Gabriel Lombardo Quintet

The Quintet proposes a contemporary urban music. It has a strong root in Tango, but the crossing with the academic music and the argentinian folklore, generates one more contribution to think about the development of our local music.

The project is integrated by Rodrigo Beraldi (violín), Daniel Ruggiero (bandoneón), Marina Ruiz Matta (piano), Martín Wainer (double bass) and Gabriel Lombardo (guitar and composition).

From it emergence, in 2018, they've played concerts in Café Vinilo, the CAFF and other venues of the Buenos Aires City. Besides, the project won an Honorary Mention of the Fondo Nacional de las Artes (National Fond of Arts) (FNA), in the popular unpublished music contest (Tango category) for its first record "La Estafa", and obtained a scholarship in said institution to record the work.

The brand new record La Estafa will be presented in the Centro Cultural Fernández Fierro (CAFF) on August 1st, 2019, with special guests.

In the concert, the multiculturalism, creativity and respect for the identity and the tradition coexists in the scenario generating a voice that speaks of its time and it interprets it. The heterogeneity and the cosmopolitan character of the city are the same cause for which the esthetic that is worked questions the stylistic limits of the citizen music. For all these, the play acquires a testimonial character that documents a contemporary perspective of Buenos Aires and the region.
